What to Prepare Before You Order Your Company Website

7/12/2026 · 4 min read

A practical checklist of everything to gather before you start with any company, so your site finishes quickly and without delays.

Most websites that run late do not run late because of the coding. They run late because the owner is busy and has not sent the information yet.

Here is everything you need. Gather it before you start and you will save days.

1. Your basic company details

Put these in one note on your phone:

  • The full company name exactly as it appears on your commercial registration.
  • Your commercial registration number and tax number.
  • Your precise address, and your Google Maps link if you have one.
  • The mobile or unified number you want customers to reach.
  • Your working hours.

2. What exactly do you offer?

This is the most important item, and the one people most often underestimate.

Write a list of your services or products, and next to each one a sentence or two explaining what it is. Not marketing language, just a plain description, the way you would explain it to someone sitting across from you.

Bad example: "Integrated high-quality solutions." Good example: "Installation and maintenance of split and window air conditioners for homes and offices, with a one-year warranty on the installation."

3. Photos

This is what stalls most projects. You need:

  • Photos of your actual work: past projects, the shop, the workshop, the products.
  • An exterior shot of your premises if you have a physical location.
  • Team photos, if you want an About page with people on it.

Practical advice:

  • Modern phone photos are perfectly good. You do not need a professional photographer.
  • Shoot during the day in natural light.
  • Send photos at original size. Do not send them compressed through a messaging app if there is a "send as file" option.
  • Ten good photos beat fifty random ones.

No photos at all? Say so upfront. Most companies can source images suited to your trade, and some will arrange a shoot.

4. Your logo

If you have a logo, send it at the best quality you have. An SVG, AI or PDF file is ideal, and if all you have is an image, send the clearest version.

If you have no logo at all, that is fine. Say so at the start so it goes into the plan, and so you know whether it is inside the price or costs extra.

5. The copy

The good news: most decent companies write the copy for you, and you just review and approve.

But even when they write it, they need raw material from you: item 2 above, plus anything you like about your company's story or why you started.

If you already have text, send it in one organised file with headings, not scattered across messages.

6. The domain name you want

Start thinking about the site name now. Have a first choice and two backups ready. See how to register a .sa domain with your commercial registration, because the name has to match your registration.

7. The email addresses you need

Decide who needs an official mailbox. Usually info@ and sales@ are enough at the start. See why an email with your company name matters.

8. Your social accounts

Send the links to your accounts so they can go on the site. If you do not have any, no problem.

A checklist to copy

  • Company name, commercial registration and tax number
  • Address and Google Maps link
  • Contact number and working hours
  • A list of services with a short description of each
  • 10 to 20 photos of your work
  • Your logo at the best available quality
  • The domain name you want, plus two backups
  • The email addresses you need
  • Links to your social accounts

How long does this take?

If you sit down and gather it all in one go, one to two hours. And those two hours save you a week of waiting.
